Please join our campaign to save The Swan Tavern (later known as Millers), a noble Victorian Pub which has graced 87 Greenwich High Road for over 100 years.

As a music bar in the 1970s, it was the venue which inspired Dire Straits to write "Sultans of Swing".

It was recommended for inclusion in a conservation zone in 2009, but then Greenwich Council granted planning permission for its demolition in 2011. Now the wrecking crews are moving in, and we are running out of time and options to save it for future generations to enjoy.

You can help by acting today!

Directly object to the demolition plans (planning application 14/0919/SD) by contacting development controller Jacob Jaarsma below. Please give you name and address to show you live nearby:

Also, contact the West Ward Councillors, and Mayor of Greenwich, Angela Cornforth, here, to let them know that you oppose the demolition. Again, please give you name and address to show you live nearby:

We call on them to find a better way forward, such as turning the pub into a community asset.
