It's taken me a while but I finally got around to taking some photos of the Yuri Gagarin statue that was installed at the Royal Observatory earlier this year. The zinc statue of the cosmonaut initially went on display in The Mall but its permanent home is now in Greenwich, overlooking what has been named the Gagarin terrace. It stands 3.5m tall and is a replica of a statue that exists in Russia.

What do you think of the Yuri Gagarin and what's your favourite statue in Greenwich or nearby?
