Mayor of London Boris Johnson was on hand today to launch Greenwich's newest tourist attraction. He joined the President of Emirates, Tim Clark, at the opening of the new Aviation Experience centre, right next to the Emirates Airline cable car station.

The Aviation Experience offers the chance to try out flight sims in aircraft like the A380 and to sit in a mockup A380 cockpit. Whilst in the cockpit, you can have your photo taken and posted directly to Facebook. There's also touch screen games, a large HD video wall and a model engine built using lego.

The Aviation Experience also has a gift shop and a smart new coffee shop which has comfy indoor seats and outdoor seating under the flightpath of the cable car. It costs £3 for adults to go in and £1.50 for kids although the coffee shop can be used without entering the Experience. Flight sim sessions are £40 for 30 minutes. The website for the attraction is http://www.aviation-experience.com
